Animal: Bat/gem/tanuki 

I'll call them "Gembats" for now :3

They are a pet-like species
They love gems,and collect them.
There's always gems in their chest fluff,around their tail and one on their forehead

Gembats have very sense of smell....for gems that is. Thier large heart shaped noses are used to find gems.
So usually people or other creatures have them as pets to help them find gems.
Each gembat has their own gem,they can only find that type of gem.
they are popular type of pet and are easy to take care of.
They have little claw-like feet which allow them to dig and to hang on to things. 
they also can see in the dark,and are very social. you hardly see them alone. 
They are about 2-4 inches tall so they are very small >w< 
They are very pudgy,fat and fluffy XD
